Everything you need to know before you brew

The book is currently available in print only. A digital edition may follow — sign up to our newsletter to be the first to know.

Can I try a recipe before buying?

Yes — the Anti-Gravity Potion is available free on our Free Recipe page. No sign-up required.

Allergens & Safety

Is it safe for children with allergies?

Every recipe includes an allergen flag strip covering the 14 major allergens — dairy, gluten, nuts, honey, citrus, and more. Suggested swaps are listed throughout. Always check labels on packaged ingredients and consult a medical professional if your child has a severe allergy.

Which allergens appear most in the recipes?

Dairy (milk, cream, yogurt) appears most frequently. Many recipes are naturally gluten-free and nut-free. Each recipe page flags all relevant allergens clearly so you can decide at a glance.

Are allergen-free swaps provided?

Yes. Where a common allergen appears, the recipe notes a simple swap — for example, oat milk instead of dairy milk, or coconut cream instead of whipped cream.

Is adult supervision required?

Adult supervision is recommended, especially for younger children and any steps involving mixing, pouring, or kitchen equipment. The book includes a full safety checklist at the start.

The Book

How many recipes are in the book?

How does the Apprentice Certificate work?

At the end of the book, apprentices can scan the QR code and answer a final apprentice question to receive a personalised printable Apprentice Certificate.

Do I need any special equipment or ingredients?

No specialist supplies are needed. The recipes use everyday kitchen ingredients like fruit, yogurt, milk, juice, and simple tools most families already have at home.
