The Forest Guardian Brew
Warm, velvety green magic โ real ingredients, really delicious
โฆ The Legend
Deep in the Borrowstone Forest, where the oldest trees grow so tall their tops disappear into the clouds, there are guardians that most people never see.
They move between the roots. They speak in rustles.
A young adventurer once stumbled upon a hollow in the base of a great oak. Inside, carved into the bark, was a recipe โ left there by a playful sprite who believed that anyone willing to search for it was worthy of the secret.
The brew is said to grant those who drink it the ability to hear what the forest is trying to tell them: the creak of a branch that means turn left, the drip of water that means you're nearly there, the sudden stillness that means wait.
Most people walk through forests and hear nothing.
Brew this. Listen harder.
โThe guardians don't appear to everyone. But they always notice who brought the right drink.โ
Adult supervision recommended. Suitable for ages 8โ12. Contains dairy (milk, ice cream). Check all ingredients for allergens before brewing. Hot milk requires adult help.
Ingredients
- 1 tspMatcha powder
- 1 cupMilk โ dairy or plant-based โ oat milk gives the most forest-y flavour
- 1 scoopVanilla ice cream
- 1 tbspHoney โ optional, for sweetness
- Whipped cream โ optional, for topping
Instructions
- 1Warm the milk in a small saucepan over a gentle heat โ hot, but not boiling.Ask a grown-up to help with this step.
- 2Whisk the matcha powder into the warm milk until fully dissolved and smooth.Keep whisking โ matcha likes to clump. A small balloon whisk works best.
- 3Place the scoop of vanilla ice cream into a clear glass or mug.
- 4Pour the warm matcha milk slowly over the ice cream and watch it swirl. This is where the magic happens. Don't stir yet โ just watch.
- 5Stir gently once to create a creamy, green-and-white spiral.
- 6Add a drizzle of honey and a swirl of whipped cream if desired.
- 7Drink while warm, before the forest goes quiet.
Magical Tip
Add a single drop of peppermint extract for a cool, enchanted forest breeze in every sip. Or swap the dairy milk for oat milk โ the earthy flavour makes the potion taste like it was brewed somewhere with roots in it.
