The Golden Glow Elixir

In the tales of the Sunlit Grove — a place that exists, according to those who have been there, somewhere between early morning and the moment you remember you were happy — there lived a sprite named Lumina.
Lumina was not especially powerful. She could not move mountains or bend rivers. What she could do was find people who had lost their glow and give it back to them.
She did this with a drink.
One autumn, a grumpy old traveller passed through the grove on his way to somewhere he had forgotten the name of. He hadn't smiled in eleven years. He sat down heavily under a peach tree and announced that he was done travelling forever.
Lumina picked a peach from the branch above his head. She added mango from the grove and squeezed three oranges into a cup. She handed it to him without a word.
He drank it.
Then he stood up, adjusted his coat, and walked on — humming.
He never came back. But people who passed through the grove after him said they could still hear the humming, faintly, carried on the warm wind.
“From that day forth, Lumina became known as the Sprite of Sunshine.”
Adult supervision recommended. Suitable for ages 8–12. Contains honey (optional). Honey is not suitable for children under 12 months. Check all ingredients for allergens before brewing.
Ingredients
- 1 cupFresh orange juice
- 1Peach, diced — fresh or tinned, drained
- ½ cupMango chunks — fresh or frozen
- 1 tspHoney — optional, for extra sweetness
- ½ cupSparkling water
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- 1Add the diced peach, mango chunks, and orange juice to a blender.
- 2Blend until the mixture is smooth and glowing.If using a hand blender, a tall jug works best. If you have no blender, mash the peach and mango with a fork until pulpy — it will be chunkier, but no less magical.
- 3If you'd like it sweeter, add the honey and blend again briefly.
- 4Fill a glass halfway with ice cubes.
- 5Pour the blended mixture over the ice.
- 6Top with sparkling water to give the elixir its shimmer.Pour slowly down the side of the glass to keep the bubbles.
- 7Stir gently once, hold it up, and sip.
Magical Tip
For a layered effect, pour the blended fruit over the ice first and then add the sparkling water without stirring. The golden blend will sit beneath a clear, bubbling layer — two worlds in one glass, just like the Sunlit Grove itself.
